Lufthansa flight LH474, originally bound to Montreal, has made a u-turn back to Munich and is descending through FL230.
About D-AIVC: The Aircraft Operating LH474 Munich-Montreal…
D-AIVC, the aircraft involved in the emergency, is a 5.6 year old Airbus A350-900 that first started out life with Philippine Airlines in October 2018, as per Planespotters.
The aircraft was handed over to Lufthansa in March 2022.
Of the A350-900 variant, the German carrier has 24 in the fleet.
Furthermore, of that 24, all but two are in active service.
Average fleet age for the variant at the airline currently stands at 5.2 years.
Diverting to Frankfurt?
LH474, originally bound for Montreal from Munich, looks to be making a diversion to Frankfurt instead.

LH474 is on the base leg into Frankfurt for an emergency landing!

LH474 is now on final approach into Frankfurt for it’s emergency landing.
Furthermore, it is unclear what the nature of the emergency is onboard the Lufthansa Airbus A350 originally flying between Munich and Montreal.
TOUCHDOWN!
TOUCHDOWN! LH474 has appeared to have touched down safely into Frankfurt following it’s emergency declaration during the climb out from MUC.
