Climb Stopped at FL250…

In the last few moments, a Lufthansa Airbus A340 bound for Bogota has declared an emergency during the climb-out from Frankfurt.

LH542 has stopped it’s climb at FL250 and is beginning to make a turn, presumably back to FRA.

About D-AIGN: The Lufthansa Aircraft Involved in the Emergency…

As per Planespotters, D-AIGN is a 26.3 year old Airbus A340-300 that was delivered to Lufthansa back in March 1998.

Of the A340-300 variant, LH have 17 of them in their fleet.

Furthermore, of that 17, all of them are in active service with an average fleet age of 24.7 years.

Lufthansa flight LH542 has changed it’s squawk code from 7700 to 0130. At this stage, it is unclear what is going on at this time.

In the last few moments, a Lufthansa Airbus A340 bound for Bogota has declared an emergency during the climb-out from Frankfurt.

LH542 Frankfurt to Bogota is now climbing beyond FL260. The emergency broadcast by the pilots could very well be a false alarm. Standby for additional updates on this.

Looks Like The Lufthansa Emergency is Continuing on to Bogota…

In the last few moments, a Lufthansa Airbus A340 bound for Bogota has declared an emergency during the climb-out from Frankfurt.

The Lufthansa Airbus A340 appears to be continuing on to Bogota, with the aircraft still tracking West.

Furthermore, it is now climbing through FL280. We can potentially assume that the emergency broadcast by the pilots was a false alarm.
