JetBlue A320 Raleigh-San Juan: Emergency at Fort Lauderdale

UPDATE #1 @ 1743 UK time – JetBlue flight B62929, originally bound for San Juan from Raleigh, is continuing on it’s westward track to Fort Lauderdale, the diversion airfield for this emergency.

UPDATE #2 @ 1744 UK time – N715JB, the aircraft operating this flight, is a 15.6 year old Airbus A320-232 that started out life with JetBlue back in July 2008, as per data from Planespotters.net.

Of the A320-200 variant, the carrier has 128 of them in the fleet, of which 120 are in active service and eight are currently parked, offering an average fleet age of 18.3 years.

UPDATE #3 @ 1747 UK time – B62929 is currently descending out of FL330 towards the Fort Lauderdale area. It is unclear what the nature of the emergency is for the flight that started from Raleigh and was originally supposed to go to San Juan.

UPDATE #4 @ 1749 UK time – B62929 has been in the air for just shy of two and a half hours at this moment in time.

UPDATE #5 @ 1758 UK time – B62929 is passing through FL150 as the Airbus A320 gets closer to Fort Lauderdale. Still unclear what the emergency is at this point.

UPDATE #6 @ 1802 UK time – Based off charts, JetBlue flight B62929 looks to be going for a straight in approach onto the 28s at Fort Lauderdale.

UPDATE #7 @ 1812 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! B62929, originally bound for San Juan from Raleigh, has appeared to have touched down safely into Fort Lauderdale following the declaration of an emergency around 30-40 minutes ago.
