In the last few moments, a Jet2 flight from Newcastle to Ibiza has declared an emergency and has turned around over the UK.

G-JZBK is the Boeing 737-800 operating LS555, and at the time of writing is descending through FL280 (0930 UK time).

UPDATE #1 @ 0932 UK time – Jet2 flight LS555 is descending through FL230 and looks to be diverting to London Stansted.
UPDATE #2 @ 0933 UK time – As per data from Planespotters, G-JZBK is a 5.5 year old Boeing 737-800, which was delivered to the carrier back in March 2018.

UPDATE #3 @ 0934 UK time – LS555 is currently tracking to the south-east of London Stansted. Unclear what the reason for the emergency is on the flight that originated from Newcastle, originally bound for Ibiza.

UPDATE #4 @ 0939 UK time – Jet2 flight LS555 is descending through FL100 and is to the north of London Stansted now, as it continues to burn altitude ahead of its diversion into London Stansted.
UPDATE #5 @ 0941 UK time – Winds currently favour Runway 22, but depending on the emergency, any runway is available at Stansted.

UPDATE #6 @ 0944 UK time – LS555 is now on final approach into London Stansted, using Runway 04, instead of the wind-favoured Runway 22.

UPDATE #7 @ 0947 UK time – Jet2 flight LS555 between Newcastle and Ibiza, has appeared to have landed safely into London Stansted following its emergency broadcast transmission a few moments ago.

UPDATE #8 @ 1125 UK time – @FlightEmergency confirming that the cause of the emergency was down to an electrical fault.
