UPDATE #1 @ 2116 UK time – As per data from Planespotters, HL8061 is a 15.1 year old airframe which started out life with Ryanair in December 2008 as EI-DYS before being handed over to the South Korean carrier in February 2016.

UPDATE #2 @ 2118 UK time – Jeju Air flight 7C2252 to Busan has been in the hold to the south-west of Bangkok for quite some time now. Unclear what the issue is.
UPDATE #3 @ 2124 UK time – ADS-B data highlights that 7C2552 got as high as 8,500 feet, before a descent down to 7,000 was initiated, following its holding.
UPDATE #4 @ 2125 UK time – The data is also stating that 7C2552 has been in the hold for close for over an hour and a half currently.
UPDATE #5 @ 2130 UK time – 7C2252, originally bound for Busan, clearly either hasn’t burnt enough fuel yet or the crew onboard are trying to assess and fix the problem onboard before risking an approach into Bangkok.

UPDATE #6 @ 2141 UK time – 7C2252 continues to hold. Monitoring ATC channels. Nothing reported yet regarding the nature of the emergency.
UPDATE #7 @ 2152 UK time – Still no signs of a hold exit yet. 7C2252 has been in the air for over two and a half hours currently.
UPDATE #8 @ 2203 UK time – 7C2252 has done over 20 loops in the hold thus far.
UPDATE #9 @ 2228 UK time – 7C2252 is getting close to 30 loops in the hold. The aircraft has been airborne for three hours and eight minutes.

UPDATE #10 @ 2244 UK time – After nearly three hours in the hold, Jeju Air flight 7C2252, originally bound for Busan, is out of it’s emergency hold and is returning to Bangkok.

UPDATE #22 @ 2250 UK time – 7C2252 is descending out of FL70 now as it continues its approach into Bangkok.
