UPDATE #1 @ 1929 UK time – Gulf Air flight GF219 appears to be cruising at FL100 as it continues its return to Bahrain.
UPDATE #2 @ 1930 UK time – As per data from Planespotters, A9C-AC is a 14 year old Airbus A320 that was delivered to the airline back in October 2009.

UPDATE #4 @ 1934 UK time – GF219, originally bound for Kuwait City, is currently descending slowly through FL80 as it prepares for its arrival into Bahrain. Still no indication into what the cause of the emergency is.

UPDATE #5 @ 1938 UK time – GF219 is descending through 5,000 feet, as it looks to be preparing for the downwind leg of the approach into its origin airport.
UPDATE #6 @ 1939 UK time – GF219 is confirmed on the downwind leg for Runway 30R at Bahrain.

UPDATE #9 @ 1948 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! Gulf Air flight GF219 between Bahrain and Kuwait City has appeared to have touched down safely back in its origin airport following the 7700 emergency broadcast instigating a u-turn back to base.
UPDATE #10 2/10/23 @ 1340 UK time – The cause of the emergency was a loss of cabin pressure, with Gulf Air saying the following on this:
“Gulf Air Flight GF 219, from Bahrain to Kuwait has diverted back safely to Bahrain International Airport shortly after departure, as the flight encountered a technical issue, prompting the pilot to prioritize the safety of all passengers and crew onboard. All 130 passengers have been successfully reaccommodated on an alternative aircraft.”
