In the last few moments, an easyJet flight between Faro and London has declared an emergency, and has diverted to Brest.

Information is limited surrounding this incident, but here is what we know so far.

easyJet flight U25834, which declared an emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between Faro and London Gatwick, and has diverted to Brest.

The aircraft operating this flight is G-UJEA.

As per data from Planespotters.net, G-UJEA is a 1.3 year old Airbus A320neo that was delivered to the UK subsidiary of the airline in March 2023.

Of the A320neo variant, easyJet UK has 44 of them in the fleet.

Furthermore, of that 44, all but one are in active service, offering an average fleet age of 4.1 years.

easyJet flight U28534, which diverted to Brest, departed Faro at 0942 local time this morning and initially headed to London.

Over the western coast of France, the aircraft declared an emergency and proceeded to descend immediately after that.

The aircraft landed safely without further incident at 1149 UK time into Brest.

At this stage, it is unclear what the cause of the emergency is onboard easyJet flight U28534 between Faro and London.

As soon as we have more information pertinent to this incident, then we will update you accordingly.

What we know is that it is serious enough to cause a diversion and not a continuation to Gatwick.

UPDATE #1 @ 1304 UK time – As per @FlightEmergency on X, it is understood the cause of today’s emergency was medical-related.
