In the early hours of this morning, a Delta Air Lines flight from Anchorage declared an emergency during it’s approach into Seattle.

Information about this incident is limited, but here is what we know so far regarding this.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

DL829 – Anchorage to Seattle…

Delta Air Lines flight DL829 is a routine scheduled flight between Anchorage and Seattle.

The aircraft involved in this emergency is registered as N301DU.

As per data from Planespotters.net, N301DU is a 3.1 year old Airbus A220-300 that was delivered to the airline in March 2021.

Of the A220-300 variant, Delta Air Lines has 24 of them in the fleet, of which all of them are in active service.

Furthermore, average fleet age for the variant at the airline stands at 1.8 years.

DL829 departed Anchorage at 1413 local time yesterday afternoon and proceeded southbound to Seattle.

Everything was normal in the flight until the approach stage into SEA.

The aircraft failed it’s first landing attempt and went around, and was re-sequenced for approach.

During the second attempt, the crew onboard declared an emergency via the 7700 squawk transmission.

Delta Air Lines flight DL829 from Anchorage then landed safely into Seattle without further incident at 1946 local time (0346 UK time).

Cause is Yet To Be Determined…

At this stage, it is unclear what the reason for the emergency was onboard Delta Air Lines flight DL829 between Anchorage and Seattle.

Information is currently limited regarding this, as nothing has been revealed as of yet regarding this.

As soon as we have more information pertinent to this, then we will update the article accordingly.

But for now, this remains a developing story. More to follow in due course.

UPDATE #1 @ 0749 UK time – It is understood the reason for the emergency was a brake failure onboard DL829 as per @thenewarea51 on X!
