Delta Air Lines A330neo Rome-Atlanta Declares Emergency

A Delta Air Lines flight from Rome to Atlanta has declared an emergency whilst in transit over France.

Having declared the emergency with transponder code 7700 in French airspace, flight DL67 is initiating a diversion to Paris.

Flight crew declared the emergency from the cruise at FL360 (36,000 feet). Flight DL67 is now established on a diversion to Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG).

Furthermore, the nature of the emergency prompting this afternoon’s diversion is not yet known.

Diverted from its original route, flight DL67 has now begun its descent and is currently passing through FL180.

Furthermore, weather for the flight’s arrival at the diversion airport CDG is marginal VFR (MVFR) with visibility 10 kilometres or more. Cloudbase is overcast (OVC) at 2,300 feet, with RWY36/27 active.

Delta flight DL67 is now manoeuvring in the Paris region for RWY26/27. Furthermore, the Delta Air Lines A330neo, originally bound for Atlanta is maintaining the emergency priority squawk code 7700.

Update 12:48 UTC

Delta flight DL67, originally bound for Atlanta from Rome, has now made an emergency landing at the diversion airport Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG).

Airbus A330-941 N403DX flew this afternoon’s transatlantic service to Atlanta. This is a 4-year old wide body aircraft which belongs to the US carrier Delta Air Lines.

The aircraft has been in service with the airline since its initial delivery in August 2019.

Flight data shows the DL67 flight rotation made an on-time departure out of Rome at 12:16 local time today.

The aircraft then set course normally for the transatlantic route and climbed to FL360 (36,000 feet). The flight crew declared an emergency at 16:06 UTC, using code 7700.

Flight crew entered a diversion and immediate descent into nearby Paris CDG airport.

@FlightEmergency on X reports that the cause of the emergency onboard today’s DL67 service was medical-related.
