In the last few moments, an American Airlines flight from Atlanta to Dallas Fort Worth declared an emergency whilst on descent to its destination.

AA2770 is a routine flight between Atlanta and Dallas Fort Worth, with this being an Airbus A321 operating the flight under the registration N908AA.

At the time of writing (1240 UK time), the flight is setting itself up for potential holding and then its subsequent approach into the airport.

UPDATE #1 @ 1243 UK time – AA2770 is on final approach into Dallas Fort Worth following its emergency broadcast a few moments ago.

UPDATE #2 @ 1245 UK time – AA2770 has now landed safely into the airport following its emergency call. Updates still to come in on the nature of the emergency.

UPDATE #3 @ 1246 UK time – AA2770 was operated by N908AA, an Airbus A321-231 aircraft.

As per Planespotters.net, N908AA is a 6.1 year old aircraft, having been delivered new to American Airlines back in July 2017.

UPDATE #4 @ 1249 UK time – It is understood that AA2770 has safely vacated the runway at the airport. Looks to be heading to stand.

AviationSource will approach American Airlines for a comment regarding the nature of the emergency into Dallas Fort-Worth.

At this stage, it is unclear what has happened during the descent procedure into the airport.
