American Airlines 777 declares emergency, diverting to Dublin

LONDON – An American Airlines long-haul flight from New York to Doha, Qatar has declared an emergency and it current diverting to Dublin Airport.

American Airlines flight AA120, a Boeing 777-200ER registered N782AN, has declared an emergency in-flight and is currently approaching Dublin.

The aircraft was operating a scheduled flight from New York John F Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH) and is currently on approach, squawking 7700.

The flight had been tracking across northern England, when it declared an emergency and made the unscheduled diversion to Dublin.

The aircraft has now landed Dublin. It is understood that a medical emergency may have been the reason for the diversion.
