UPDATE #1 @ 1531 UK time – Air Canada flight AC235 from Edmonton continues it’s emergency descent into Vancouver.
UPDATE #2 @ 1533 UK time – As per Planespotters, C-GBIA is a 25.7 year old Airbus A319-100 that started out life with Air Canada back in April 1998. It had a long stint under the Jetz subsidiary before being returned back to the airline in July this year.
Of the Airbus A319 variant, the airline currently has five of them, of which all are in active service and hold an average fleet age of 26.8 years.

UPDATE #3 @ 1537 UK time – AC235 slowly gets over the mountainous terrain as the next level of descent into Vancouver from Edmonton continues.
UPDATE #4 @ 1538 UK time – At this time, it is unclear what the reason for the emergency is, which was broadcasted during it’s descent into it’s destination.

UPDATE #5 @ 1540 UK time – AC235 is on the downwind leg into Vancouver, passing through 8,000 feet. Landing expected imminently.

UPDATE #6 @ 1545 UK time – Air Canada flight AC235 is on final approach into the airport now.

UPDATE #7 @ 1550 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! Air Canada flight AC235 from Edmonton has safely touched down into Vancouver following it’s emergency broadcast not too long ago. Updates to follow in due course.
UPDATE #8 @ 1559 UK time – It is understood that AC235 was met by fire crews upon it’s landing into the airport.
