Singapore Changi Airport has experienced a 78% increase in airport movements, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by RadarBox.com.

Using data from the flight tracking company, we will have a look at how the airport is performing currently and what the Summer season could mean for Changi.

For April 2-9, Singapore Changi Airport handled 851 movements, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.

This represents an increase of 78.41% compared to the same period last year, but the airport is around 241 movements short of pre-pandemic levels.

What we can see from the data is that Singapore Changi Airport is performing much better than it did in the same periods for 2022.

The improvement has been major, especially with the airport achieving triple-digit growth in 10 of the 14 recorded weeks of 2023 thus far.

Singapore Changi Airport Voted World’s Best Airport 2023

Singapore Changi Airport was named the World’s Best Airport 2023 at the Skytrax World Airport Awards back in March.

It is the 12th time that Singapore’s international airport has taken out the coveted international award.

In addition to the major international accolade, Singapore Changi Airport also received the 2023 awards for the World’s Best Airport Dining, the Best Airport for Leisure Amenities, and the Best Airport in Asia.

Mr. Lee Seow Hiang, Chief Executive Officer of Changi Airport Group, said: “Changi Airport is honored to be named World’s Best Airport for the 12th time.”

“This recognition is a great encouragement to our airport community, who stood firmly together to battle the challenges of Covid-19 over the past two years.”

It remains clear that Changi Airport is definitely having a much better year, and all eyes are on them to see when they will exceed pre-pandemic movement levels.
