Jeddah-based carrier SAUDIA has had a great 2023. So, with that in mind, do they expect 2024 to be their big year following all of their changes?

The carrier has been evolving over the course of this year, and is part of a larger process under the goals of Vision 2030.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

The biggest highlight of the year for SAUDIA was the change of their brand identity, which showcases a stunning dark green tail, with a blue, black and green pattern across the main section of fuselage.

Captain Ibrahim S. Koshy, the CEO of the airline had this to say on the new livery:

“The motif of the palm tree in the new brand identity is a symbolic nod towards Saudi generosity, rich culture and hospitality which is renowned across the globe.”

“With the launch of the new brand this year, we are delighted to connect more guests with our routes and welcome further visitors to Saudi in 2024.”.

Green is symbolic of the national pride and the airline’s dedication advancing the sustainability goals in Vision 2030.

The blue highlights SAUDIA’s aspirations, representing the seas and skies, with the light green representing sand to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the country and commitment to human resources.

Jeddah-based carrier SAUDIA has said that it’s new branding extends to all guest touch points when onboard their aircraft.

They believe that this will create a cultural immersion when flying with the carrier, as they are designed to reflect the identity of Saudi, as well as offering significant cuisine offerings to reflect this.

On top of this, the in-flight entertainment choices are carefully picked, with tourist and heritage destinations promoted throughout.

As the Jeddah-based carrier understands, it’s all about maintaining that Vision 2030 strategy throughout it’s offering.

Finally, the Jeddah-based carrier will be entering the world of AI through a virtual assistant, which has been announced and will be launched by the carrier in the future.

In their statement on this, SAUDIA said the following regarding it:

“This will incorporate an advanced AI platform operating seamlessly through voice and text chat and will be used as a single tool for all guest interactions including post-sales queries regarding airport information, weather, visas and transportation.”

“In 2024, Saudia has ambitions for guests to complete the entire transaction process with the AI virtual assistant.”

Operational efficiency has been another area where the Jeddah-based carrier has placed investment, and has been placed in third globally for on-time performance, as per Cirium.

“We enter 2024 with great positivity, pride and commitment to our guests to showcase the best of Saudi from start to finish”, CEO Koshy says.

It remains clear that whilst SAUDIA has had a very good 2023, they have also used this year to setup the foundations for successes going into the next decade.

All eyes will be on the Jeddah-based carrier to see what else is in store for them going into the future, as well as how they can expand on their current offering of 145 destinations using a fleet of 241 aircraft.

The future remains very bright for the carrier, especially in the context of the Public Investment Fund, where infrastructure upgrades will stand to benefit the airline.

It is definitely a success model in the making, that’s for sure.
