Having reviewed the Concorde static displays at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport and New York’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, we now turn our attention to the static example at Manchester Airport, northern England.
The aircraft on display at Manchester Airport is G-BOAC, also known as Alpha Charlie. It was the second Concorde to be delivered to British Airways in 1976 and was in commercial service until 2003.
Although it was the second delivery, Alpha Charlie is considered to be the flagship of the British Airways Concorde fleet.
It is currently housed in the Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport, where visitors can take guided tours of the aircraft and learn about its history and operation.
A Concorde with a Rich History
Delivered to British Airways in 1976, Alpha Charlie embarked on a remarkable journey, carrying passengers across vast distances at unprecedented speeds. It became a symbol of luxury and innovation, gracing the skies with its sleek, elongated form and signature droop nose.

Whilst in service, this particular Concorde hosted many celebrities and Royals, including Princess Diana and HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
Flagship of British Airways’ Concorde Fleet
