Indian airports dominate in Cirium OTP Review 2023

In Cirium’s recently released On-Time Performance Review, India takes the aviation spotlight with two of its airports securing positions in the top five globally for punctuality.

Achievement for Asia-Pacific Airports


Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) claimed an impressive second place, boasting an 84.42% on-time performance, closely followed by Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) in third place with 84.08% of flights on schedule.

Noteworthy achievements in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region extend beyond India, with Japan’s Osaka Kansai International Airport (KIX) leading the medium airports category, achieving an exceptional 90.71% on-time performance.

Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO) secured a commendable second place in the small airports category, trailing by a mere 0.12% behind the top spot with an on-time performance of 90.17%.

Indigo Airlines: Setting the Pace


Adding to India’s aviation prowess, IndiGo Airlines secured the fourth position in the Asia Pacific Airline category, showcasing an impressive 82.12% punctuality rate.

Operating nearly 680,000 flights in 2023, Indigo Airlines demonstrates a commitment to on-time arrivals, enhancing the overall efficiency of the region’s air travel.

Japanese carriers took out the top spots in the Top Asia-Pacific airlines category, with All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Japan Airlines taking first and second place respectively.
