Tulsa Air and Space Museum to host WARBIRD WEEKEND

The Tulsa Air and Space Museum (TASM) is gearing up for an exhilarating three day event over the upcoming weekend. From Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1, TASM is set to host the much-anticipated WARBIRD WEEKEND.

This three-day show will feature an impressive lineup of vintage military aircraft from the Commemorative Air Force (CAF). If you’re a history buff or simply looking for a unique experience, this is an event you probably won’t want to miss.

The Aircraft Lineup


WARBIRD WEEKEND provides a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with WWII era airplanes that once graced the skies during one of the most pivotal periods in history.

B-24 Liberator “Diamond Lil”: Step aboard this magnificent piece of history and immerse yourself in the world of the legendary B-24 Liberator.

Feel the power of its engines, admire its iconic design, and discover the incredible stories it holds within its aluminum frame.

C-45 Twin Beech “Bucket of Bolts”: This charmingly nicknamed aircraft has a history as rich as its moniker. Explore the C-45 Twin Beech, and you’ll be transported back to the days when aviation was still in its infancy.

P-51 Mustang “Gunfighter”: The P-51 Mustang is a true icon of WWII aviation. Marvel at the sleek lines and powerful engine of this fighter plane, and learn about its role in shaping history.

T-6 Texan “Nella”: Get ready to embark on a journey of discovery as you explore the T-6 Texan. This aircraft played a vital role in training the aviators who would go on to become legends in the sky.

As part of your admission ticket, you’ll have the chance to take guided ground and flight deck tours of these remarkable aircraft.

Flight Experiences

For the adventure seekers among us, there’s an incredible opportunity to take flight in some of these historic planes for an additional fee.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, and even the smells of World War II aviation history.

Historic Military Vehicles

WARBIRD WEEKEND will also feature a display of historic military vehicles.

Media Day


For members of the media and aviation enthusiasts alike, a special treat awaits on Thursday, September 28, starting at 1 pm.

Museum staff and aircraft crew will be available for interviews, giving you an insider’s perspective on these historic planes. Weather permitting, there’s even the opportunity for media flights on one or more aircraft at 2 pm. Don’t miss this chance to capture the essence of WARBIRD WEEKEND from the sky.

All tickets include same-day TASM admission, allowing you to explore the museum’s fascinating exhibits in addition to the WARBIRD WEEKEND festivities.
