At the 54th Paris Air Show 2023, the AviationSource News team had the opportunity to view the Embraer C-390 Millennium aircraft.
This article will cover the details of the tour that our team got of Embraer’s new C-390 Millennium multi-mission military aircraft at the Paris Air Show.
Embraer’s C-390 Millennium at Paris
Embraer’s new C-390 Millennium is a multi-mission military aircraft that is capable of being able to carry out the following missions –
- Aerial Assault
- Aerial Resupply
- Special Operations
- Medical Evacuation
- Aerial Firefighting
- Search & Rescue
- Humanitarian Aid
- Air-To-Air Refuelling
As well as having the capability to carry out all of the above missions, the C-390 Millennium operates in hot and humid environments, especially for the Brazilian Air Force down in the Amazon Rainforest, down to freezing temperatures of the Antarctic, and even hot and sandy desert environments.
The aircraft is also dual certified to be operated in both the military and civil aviation sectors. The C-390 Millennium is powered by two IAE V2500 engines.
The hold of the C-390 Millennium is capable of holding up to 26 tonnes of weight, ranging from military supplies, medical supplies, food, drinks on pallets, and even vehicles including helicopters.
The hold of the C-390 Millennium can also be reconfigured in just five minutes, swapping from a flat floor to a floor with rollers to make loading and unloading much more efficient, thus reducing time and effort to offload or reload the aircraft.

What an incredible opportunity it was for the team to view this magnificent aircraft from Embraer. The range of the capabilities this aircraft has is astounding.
With only a few operators so far we’re surprised that no one else has taken up this aircraft as of yet given its vast range of abilities!
