Using data from RadarBox.com, we will see how the airport is getting on at the moment, as well as how that will set them up for upcoming Summer success.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
Tenerife South Airport Remained Popular in January…
[monsterinsights_popular_posts_inline]
For January 30-February 6, Tenerife South Airport handled 242 movements, which is an increase of 5.22% compared to the same period last year.
Compared to the pre-pandemic era, the airport is ahead by 33 movements, which shows solid growth over the years.
Below is the last four weeks’ worth of data based on their performance:
Date | 2019 Numbers | 2023 Numbers | 2024 Numbers | Percentage Difference (2024 vs. 2023) |
January 2-9 | 203 movements | 267 movements | 298 movements | +11.61% |
January 9-16 | 172 movements | 288 movements | 256 movements | -11.11% |
January 16-23 | 205 movements | 288 movements | 245 movements | -14.93% |
January 23-30 | 211 movements | 240 movements | 243 movements | +1.25% |
What we can see from the data is that despite the percentage decreases in two of the four weeks, the numbers are still considerably stronger than the same period in 2019.
With that in mind, Tenerife South Airport continues to be a popular airport over the Winter months.
Such travel in the winter will no doubt consider passengers to return in the Summer, which will encourage more movements from the airport on a weekly basis in the upcoming 2024 scheduling.
All eyes will be on how the rest of the year goes for the airport.
