Menzies Aviation wins seven licences in Spanish tender

Menzies Aviation, a global leader in providing essential services to airports and airlines, has secured seven ground handling licenses from the Spanish Airport Authority (AENA).

The award of seven ramp licences came as part of a major tender encompassing a total of 41 licenses at 43 airports throughout Spain.

The Spanish tender is largest ground handling tender in the world, estimated to be worth more than 5 billion EUR in total.

The recently awarded clutch of ground handling licences for the global service provider has cemented Menzies’ position as a key player in the Spanish ground services sector.

Strategic Locations


The awarded ground handling licenses cover a strategic selection of airports in Spain:

  1. Barcelona (BCN)
  2. Palma Mallorca (PMI)
  3. Malaga (AGP)
  4. Alicante (ALC)
  5. Gran Canaria (LPA)
  6. Tenerife Sur (TFS)
  7. Tenerife Norte (TFN)

These licenses are slated to be in effect for seven years, spanning from early 2024 to 2031, during which Menzies will provide comprehensive ramp and passenger services at the seven airports.

A Proven Track Record in Spain


Menzies Aviation has been operating in Spain since 2004 and will continue to provide passenger services at an additional seven airports.
