Manchester – easyJet & Jet2 Expand Ops
Starting this off, easyJet has announced that they will be basing a 22nd aircraft out of Manchester Airport (MAN) for the upcoming Summer 2024 season.
The 22nd aircraft will be one of their Airbus A320neos and is set to create 40 additional job opportunities at the airport.
Alongside this, easyJet will be adding a new route to the Greek island of Skiathos, becoming their 26th destination from the Northern airport. The new service to Skiathos will commence from May 5, 2024, and will operate twice per week on Tuesdays and Sundays.
From a Jet2 perspective, the carrier will be commencing services to Pula in Croatia on the Istrian Coast during their Summer 2025 program.
Flights to Pula will commence from May 2, 2025 and run until September 29, 2025 operating on a twice weekly basis on Mondays and Fridays.
Commenting on their latest announcement from Manchester Airport, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, says, “We continue to see opportunity to offer our customers in the North West even more choice, which is why we are delighted to announce the expansion of our aircraft fleet in Manchester and more new routes for our network.”
Jet2’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Heapy, also adds, “We are incredibly excited to be adding Pula and the Istrian Coast to our Summer 25 programme from Manchester Airport. We are experiencing strong demand from customers and independent travel agents in the North West for Summer 25, as they make the most of being able to book ahead and get a much-deserved holiday locked in the diary.”
“Croatia is proving to be a popular holiday choice for Summer 25. In response to that, we are putting flights and holidays on sale to this Croatian showstopper and further expanding our biggest Summer Sun programme to date.”
