London Gatwick Marks New Baku, Ashgabat & Tashkent Flights

London Gatwick has today celebrated the recent launch of new flights to Baku, Ashgabat and Tashkent.

The airport has made significant waves in route growth over the last six to 12 months.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

The New Flights from London Gatwick…

London Gatwick has recently welcomed the following carriers for new flights for the airport:

  • Baku – With Azerbaijan Airlines.
  • Ashgabat – With Turkmenistan Airlines.
  • Tashkent – With Uzbekistan Airlines.

Flights to Baku started in March on a thrice-weekly basis, with Ashgabat starting last weekend on a twice-weekly basis.

Finally, the Tashkent flights from London Gatwick started on Sunday just gone on a once-weekly basis.

Such news means that LGW now serves 12 destinations across Asia and the Middle East.

Adding to this was Stephanie Wear, the VP of Aviation Development at London Gatwick Airport:

“We are delighted to welcome three new flag carriers to London Gatwick, providing excellent connectivity to previously underserved markets in Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

“We are continuing to develop our long-haul options at London Gatwick and these new routes, while fantastic destinations in their own right, also provide passengers with excellent onward connectivity across Asia.”

Strong Growth for the Airport Ahead?

Such route development & new flights has been growing strong at London Gatwick Airport.

This all comes in time for what is expected to be the busiest Summer 2024 season on record.

Furthermore, this will increase the amount of capacity to then increase passenger numbers strongly throughout the year.

Things are going very well for London Gatwick in terms of new flights being added.

In conclusion, London Gatwick Airport continues to perform well, especially through the addition of new flights.

All eyes will be on how the Summer 2024 season performs for the airport in terms of beating last year’s passenger numbers.

On top of this, all eyes will be on whether anymore routes will be unveiled in due course.
