The commencement of a regular direct flight service between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkmenistan marks a significant milestone in the aviation sector.

The arrival of an inaugural direct flight carrying 279 passengers from the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah last Friday held a significance for both countries.

Looking ahead, King Abdulaziz International Airport envisions further expansion of its network, connecting Saudi Arabia to an even wider array of international destinations.

Plans are in hand to enhance the KSA’s air connectivity to 250 destinations worldwide, to be a global logistical hub, and to serve 330 million passengers annually by 2030.

This vision aligns with the broader objectives of the national aviation strategy, aimed at positioning the Kingdom as a leading player in the global aviation industry.
