From December 15 to 31, DXB is gearing up to welcome a staggering estimated 4.4 million passengers, with daily traffic averaging around 258,000.

Anticipating a pinnacle on December 22, the busiest day, the airport is projected to host approximately 279,000 passengers, according to a top official.

“Embracing the holiday spirit, we’ve expanded our network, introducing new airlines and additional flights to attract more visitors to Dubai.

As the travel peak approaches, consider DXB your passport to a memorable experience,” says Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports.

DXB Travel Advice

For passengers navigating the holiday rush, DXB offers a number of invaluable tips:

Streamlined Check-in for Emirates Passengers

If you’re flying with Emirates, capitalize on the airline’s user-friendly home, early, and self-service check-in options.

Additionally, take advantage of city check-in facilities at ICD Brookfield Place in Dubai and the dedicated facility in Ajman.

flydubai’s Early Arrival Advisory

Passengers with flydubai should plan to arrive at least four hours before departure to ensure a smooth experience.

General Guidelines for Other Airlines

For travelers with other airlines, arriving no earlier than three hours before departure is recommended. Utilize online check-in options when available to save valuable time.

Smart Gate Convenience for Families

Families with children over 12 can expedite the passport control process by using Smart Gates.

Stay informed about the latest travel regulations for your destination and ensure you have all necessary travel documents ready.

Pack Wisely and Prepare for Security Checks

Weigh your luggage at home, organize your documents in advance, and be prepared for security checks to minimize stress and delays.

Pack spare batteries and power banks in your hand luggage for a hassle-free security check.

Bid farewell to loved ones at home, as only passengers will be allowed inside terminals during peak periods.

Opt for Dubai Metro

Use Dubai Metro to reach Terminals 1 and 3 efficiently, considering extended operating times during holidays and peak periods.

Avoid Airport Road leading to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 during peak hours to minimize congestion. Access to arrivals’ forecourts is limited to public transport and authorized airport vehicles.

Summary

Al Shamsi highlights DXB’s commitment to the holiday spirit, with a series of activities across Terminals 1, 2, and 3.

From 3D photo opportunities in giant snow globes to visits from festive performers distributing chocolates and gifts, to meeting Santa and his elves, the airport aims to make the season truly magical.

“As Dubai solidifies its status as a winter destination, we anticipate a surge in arrivals during the last two weekends of the year.”

“Over six days from December 22 to 24 and December 29 to 31, half a million passengers are expected, mainly comprising point-to-point traffic,” he concluded.
