Flights between Canberra Airport and Bali with Batik Air are due to begin on June 14, 2024, and will operate on a thrice-weekly basis.

It is understood the airline is wanting to encourage secondary connections from the popular destination to the following airports:

  • Labuan Bajo
  • Lombok
  • Surabaya
  • Yogyakarta
  • Jakarta
  • Makassar
  • Manado

Commenting on the new flights between to Bali was Canberra Airport’s Head of Aviation, Michael Thomson:

“Bali is an amazing destination that blends culture, nature, and adventure and appeals to all types of travellers.”

“We are also excited about the opportunity to connect Canberra to Asia through Batik’s extensive network.”

Chandran Rama Muthy, Group Strategy Director at Batik Air added to this saying:

“Our objective is not only to attract travellers from Canberra to Bali but also to unveil exciting opportunities for exploration in Indonesia’s diverse secondary destinations served by Lion Air.”

“We are dedicated to enhance connectivity and making travel more accessible for passengers from Australia and Indonesia, and this new route reaffirms our dedication to that objective”.

All eyes will be on how these new flights will perform, as well as whether there is scope to expand the frequencies further going into the future.
