Bengaluru BLR Awarded ‘Best Airport at Arrivals Globally’ in 2023

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, known as BLR Airport, has once again marked its position by clinching the title of ‘Best Airport at Arrivals globally for the year 2023’.

The recently awarded title was bestowed by the Airports Council International (ACI) World.

This marks the second consecutive year that BLR Airport has secured this prestigious accolade, underlining its growing aviation profile.

A Premier Aviation Hub

Securing the top spot among airports worldwide, BLR Airport’s victory underscores its status as a premier aviation hub catering to the needs of both domestic and international passengers.

The airport’s relentless dedication to providing a smooth arrival experience into Bengaluru is coupled with its extensive connectivity.

The airport offers access to non-metro cities and facilitation of smooth transfers across Southern India, and this has been instrumental in clinching this prestigious achievement.

Efficient Arrival Procedures and Innovative Amenities

BLR Airport boasts a myriad of features aimed at enhancing passenger experience upon arrival. From efficient deboarding procedures and streamlined immigration to dedicated e-visa counters and organized baggage claim services.

Moreover, innovative amenities such as the BLR Pulse app further elevate the whole experience. This allows seamless connectivity to high-speed WiFi services. Easy navigation through the airport is achieved via the ‘WayFinder’ feature.

This also permits access to services like transit hotels and real-time assistance through the app’s chat box option.

CEO Acknowledgment

Hari Marar, the Managing Director and CEO of Bangalore International Airport Ltd, expressed gratitude for the esteemed recognition from ACI.

He extended his appreciation to the government authorities and various parties, including Immigration, Customs, CISF, and Airport Authority of India, for their strong support in ensuring a seamless arrival process.

Furthermore, Marar conveyed sincere thanks to the passengers for their continued trust and confidence.

He stressed that such recognitions serve as a driving force to continually pursue excellence and further BLR Airport’s position as the gateway to South and Central India.

BLR Airport is the third-busiest airport in India by passenger traffic, air traffic movements, and cargo handled, following only Delhi and Mumbai.

The airport serves as a hub for several domestic airlines including IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air.

This concentration of airlines makes it a convenient point for connecting flights within India.

ACI World’s Commendation

Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Director General of ACI World, lauded BLR Airport’s achievement. He hailed it as a testament to the entire team’s hard work and dedication in delivering exceptional customer experiences.

The acknowledgment highlights the pivotal role of BLR Airport is currently playing. It is enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers and fostering positive impacts on local communities.

ASQ Programme

The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) programme forms the basis of ACI’s assessments. It is anchored in live research conducted through surveys administered directly to travelers at the airport.

These surveys meticulously capture passengers’ satisfaction levels on the day of travel. It covers over 30 performance indicators across key elements of the passenger experience journey.

Bengaluru BLR Airport’s consistent performance in these assessments means it is providing world-class services and ensuring passenger satisfaction at every touchpoint.
