In their report, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport said the following on their performance for 2023:

“Of the almost 61.7 million travellers in 2023, 39.1 million flew directly to or from Schiphol. 36% of travellers had a connecting flight at Schiphol.”

“There were more than 11 million unique transfer passengers. In accordance with the international counting method, these travellers were counted twice; once as an arriving traveller and once as a departing traveller.”

“Last year, there were 441,963 air transport movements to and from the airport. That is an increase of 11% compared to 2022 (397,646 aircraft movements) and 11% less than in 2019 (496,826 aircraft movements). There were 425,994 passenger flights and 15.969 cargo flights.”

“Schiphol handled 1.37 million tonnes of cargo, a decrease of 4.8% compared to 2022 (1.44 million tonnes). There were 15,969 cargo only flights. That is 12.9% less than in 2022 (18,340 cargo flights).”

The operator also noted that Eindhoven Airport’s numbers increased to 6.8 million for 2023, with Rotterdam The Hague increasing five percentage points to 2.2m.

The airport will be wanting to progress onwards going into 2024, following the level of controversy caused over flight capacity caps.
