Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is celebrating the renaming of its home airport to Zayed International Airport today.
This monumental decision follows the inauguration of Terminal A in November 2023, marking a new chapter in the airline’s journey with its state-of-the-art home terminal.
Honoring a Visionary Leader
Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer of Etihad Airways, expressed profound pride in the airline’s home, Abu Dhabi, hailing it as the ideal launchpad for global exploration.
He attributed this celebratory milestone to the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, saying:
“We’re forever grateful to the vision of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and proudly join in these celebrations as our home airport is renamed in his honour.”
To commemorate this historic occasion, Etihad Airways unveiled a range of special offers for travelers departing from Abu Dhabi to select destinations.
This limited-time opportunity, available from February 9th to 14th, 2024, extends to guests traveling between February 19th and June 15th, 2024.
