Zurich’s leisure carrier, Edelweiss Air, which is part of the Lufthansa Group, is performing better than the last Summer period, according to data from RadarBox.com.
Using data from the flight tracking company, we will see how their summer is going so far and its comparison to last year and the pre-COVID era.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
Zurich-based Edelweiss Air Is Performing Well…

For July 4-11, Edelweiss Air, based in Zurich, operated 69 flights based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This is an increase of 4.55% compared to the same period last year and is 14 flights higher than the pre-COVID era of 2019.
Below is the last four weeks’ worth of data showing the airline’s performance over the busy summer peak so far:
Date | 2019 Numbers | 2022 Numbers | 2023 Numbers | Percentage Difference (2023 vs. 2022) |
June 6-13 | 54 movements | 54 movements | 55 movements | +1.85% |
June 13-20 | 54 movements | 57 movements | 57 movements | +0.00% |
June 20-27 | 53 movements | 58 movements | 59 movements | +1.72% |
June 27-July 4 | 56 movements | 60 movements | 66 movements | +10.00% |
What we can see from the data is that the Zurich-based carrier’s peak seems to have begun at the start of July as well as in the latter stages of June.
Based on the numbers from July 4-11, this means that the percentage increases are set to be bigger, especially as we progress through this month and then into August too.
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on Edelweiss Air to see how much further it can take its operations during the peak periods of this Summer.
