In a move that underscores Wizz Air’s commitment to being Europe’s fastest-growing and most environmentally sustainable airline globally, the carrier has announced the resumption of its route from London Luton Airport to Chisinau in Moldova.

Commencing flights from December 14th, this aims to not only reconnect the Moldovan capital with London but also to provide travelers with the opportunity to plan extended vacations, city breaks, or reunions with family.

Reintroducing Chisinau

Zsuzsa Trubek, Communications Manager at Wizz Air, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm for reintroducing the route, stating:

“We are pleased to reintroduce the route from London Luton to Chisinau in Moldova. Eastern European destinations like Chisinau are becoming more popular with tourists, and we are delighted to expand our offering for passengers looking to explore the region.”

Moldova, located in Eastern Europe, is renowned for its beautiful architecture, historic landmarks, and exceptional wine.

Travelers can immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Chisinau, exploring its gardens, parks, lively nightlife, and engaging festivals.

The flights will operate each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, providing additional flexibility for travelers. The affordability factor adds to the appeal, with fares starting from as low as £17.99.

Tickets are readily available for purchase on wizzair.com or through Wizz Air’s mobile app, ensuring a hassle-free booking process.

Trubek emphasized the significance of the new route, stating: “Chisinau has a rich history with beautiful architecture, and the route will allow our UK passengers to connect with family or enjoy a holiday in a beautiful location.”

Route competition

Wizzair will face competition on the London to Chisinau route from two Moldovan low-cost carriers. These carriers are Hisky and Flyone who both offer routes out of Luton. The latter, Flyone, also provides travelers with a Stansted departure as well as Luton.

Wizz Air, increasingly known for its rapid growth in recent years, positions itself as a trailblazer in the aviation industry.

The resumption of the London Luton to Chisinau route aligns with the airline’s strategy to not only meet current travel demands but also tap into the increasing popularity of Eastern European destinations among tourists.

For passengers traveling for leisure, business, or visiting family, Wizz Air stands as an increasingly attractive low-cost carrier, offering convenient connections and affordable options.

The reintroduction of this route marks a positive development for travelers looking to explore the captivating beauty of Moldova from London.
