Of the six million passengers handled since starting operations at London Gatwick, around 2.8m of that has come in the last 12 months, highlighting the growth out of that set of operations.

This comes following the number of flights being increased by Wizz Air out of the airport amounting to 19% more.

Zsazsa Trubek, the Corporate Communications Manager of the airline had this to say on the milestone:

We are very pleased to celebrate 6 million passengers at London Gatwick.”

“More than 1 million passengers have travelled with us to and from London Gatwick in the last 6 months and we know this milestone would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff.”

“We want to thank our passengers for putting their trust in us and we hope to welcome more travellers at London Gatwick as they travel to Europe and beyond.”

Adding to this was Stephanie Wear, the VP of Aviation Development at the airport:

”We are delighted that Wizz Air continue to grow the number of passengers they serve at London Gatwick.”

“Many of the passengers that have passed through in the last 6 months will have had the delight of using the newly refurbished Railway Station with new concourses and easy access to and from the platforms smoothing the access for passengers to connect on to London stations and a further 100+ direct connections”.

All eyes will be on how this relationship between the two sides continues to develop in due course.
