Wizz Air fleet now 200-strong with arrival of new A321neo

European carrier Wizz Air advances its fleet and network growth plan with the induction of its 200th aircraft.

The new aircraft, a narrowbody Airbus A321neo, will be based at London Luton, making the Wizz Air UK fleet age the youngest in Europe at an average age of 1.97 years old

Wizz Air, is currently experiencing the most rapid growth in Europe and has futher advanced its network expansion with the introduction of its 200th line aircraft.

London Luton Deployment

The latest addition, an Airbus A321neo, will be stationed at London Luton, underscoring the airline’s unwavering confidence in the UK market.

Its maiden voyage took off from London Luton to Bacău in Romania, marking the beginning of its service.

With a price tag exceeding £100 million, this new aircraft will be deployed to commercial operations to 59 destinations served from London Luton, including the recently unveiled routes to Salzburg, Austria, and Cairo, Egypt.

The Airbus A321neo boasts cutting-edge technology that brings about substantial environmental advantages.

It can currently operate with up to a 50% SAF blend, resulting in nearly 50% less noise, a 20% decrease in fuel consumption and carbon emissions, and a 50% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions.

Following a year of record-breaking passenger figures in 2023, Wizz Air is steadfast in its commitment to expanding its network.

Wizz Air UK Comments

The airline has a substantial order of more than 300 A321neo aircraft. Marion Geoffroy, the Managing Director of Wizz Air UK, emphasized the significance of the UK market for the airline and expressed enthusiasm for the new addition to the UK fleet.

The introduction of the A321neo aligns with Wizz Air’s dedication to utilizing latest technology, ensuring a modern and comfortable fleet while upholding environmental responsibilities and meeting the escalating demand for flights across Europe.
