Effective April 25th, departing British Airways passengers will experience a smoother journey from their new home in Terminal 3 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

This move coincides with BA’s 70th anniversary of serving Chicago, a remarkable milestone in the airline’s long and successful history in the Windy City.

As well as the shift to Terminal 3, the airline is also introducing a third non-stop daily service from Chicago to London this summer.

70 Years in the Windy City

British Airways (BA) is taking its commitment to Chicago to new heights with a series of exciting developments.

Relocation to O’Hare T3

British Airways has moved its departures from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This also offers its eligible customers access to American Airlines lounges.

The relocation to Terminal 3 offers a multitude of benefits for departing BA customers. Passengers can expect dedicated check-in areas and seamless connections within the American Airlines network.

Additionally, eligible travelers will have access to premium lounges, including the American Airlines Flagship® Lounge and Admirals Club® lounges.

The wider choice of options further enhances the pre-flight experience. It’s important to note that arrival procedures remain unchanged at Terminal 5.

Third Daily Service London-Chicago

Looking ahead to summer, the airline is set to launch a further flight service. BA has confirmed the introduction of a third non-stop daily service from Chicago to London Heathrow.

This increased frequency furthers BA’s legacy of commitment to providing unparalleled service and convenience for its valued Chicago clientele.

“Our 70-year history in Chicago motivates us to continually improve the travel experience for our customers,” said Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer.

“The introduction of a third daily service and the relocation to Terminal 3. Alongside our Atlantic Joint Business partners, this reinforces our dedication to offering exceptional service and ease of travel.”

Honoring 40 Years of Service

The celebration doesn’t stop there! In addition to marking seven decades of connecting Chicago to the world, BA also honors the remarkable career of Regional Airport Manager Maureen McLafferty.

Maureen has now dedicated an impressive 40 years to serving Chicago with British Airways.

“What a fantastic way to celebrate our 70th anniversary and my 40th year with BA!” said McLafferty. “The addition of a third daily flight and our move to a new home at O’Hare International Airport are truly exciting developments.”

“We can’t wait for our passengers to experience the many advantages of Terminal 3 and the convenience of co-locating with American Airlines.”

Summary

With this move, all British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus flights will now depart from Terminal 3 at Chicago O’Hare.

This strategic relocation brings BA even closer to its oneworld alliance partners. These include American Airlines, Iberia, and Japan Airlines, who are already established in Terminal 3.

Since 1954, British Airways has been a prominent player in Chicago’s aviation landscape, consistently providing exceptional service on its routes to and from London Heathrow Airport.

This summer, experience the comfort and efficiency of BA’s state-of-the-art Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft on one of their three non-stop daily flights from Chicago to London.
