WINAIR takes delivery of second ATR42-500 aircraft

WINAIR has taken delivery of its second ATR 42-500 aircraft, with the new addition bearing the registration PJ-WIW.

The new fleet addition made its appearance on the tarmac of Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) Airport, St. Maarten on October 27, 2023.

With this arrival, WINAIR is gearing up for the winter season ahead, boasting a fleet of two ATRs alongside four Twin Otters.

Caribbean Demand


Hans van de Velde, the CEO of WINAIR, expressed his enthusiasm for the latest addition to the fleet, stating, “We are excited to welcome our second ATR 42-500 aircraft to the fleet.”

He continued, “The first ATR has been operating very well since its launch in July, and our customers have been impressed with the comfort and on-time performance of the aircraft.”

“With the addition of the second ATR, we will be able to offer our customers more frequencies to our destinations, especially Curacao, Aruba, and Bonaire will see an increase of flights.”
