According to AeroTime, Spanish operator Vueling is set to restart operations from London Heathrow this year.
This article will cover the details surrounding Vueling being set to start up services to and from London Heathrow Airport (LHR).
Vueling: London Heathrow Ops
Commencing from April 7, 2024, Vueling will begin services to London Heathrow (LHR) from the carrier’s hubs of Barcelona (BCN) and Paris Orly (ORY), becoming the fourth IAG carrier to operate at Heathrow.
These new services will serve as additional capacity on its routes to and from the British capital, where the carrier already holds a hub at London Gatwick (LGW).
The Spanish carrier will operate the Barcelona service on a twice daily basis. This is on top of the carrier already serving Barcelona from Gatwick on an eight daily basis, totalling ten flights per day for the carrier between the two London airports.
For its Paris Orly service, Vueling will operate this on a daily basis, being the only service from LHR to Paris Orly as other operators head to Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG).
Commenting on their latest announcement, Chief Commercial Customer, Network and Strategy Officer at Vueling, Carolyn Prowse, says, “We are delighted to relaunch operations from London Heathrow, the UK’s largest airport. These two new routes are in addition to our existing operation from London Gatwick and positions Vueling as one of the key airlines connecting these major hubs across Europe.”
“Barcelona is our largest hub, and we will now offer up to ten daily flights from London overall, while Paris Orly is our second largest operating base, and is currently not served from Heathrow at all. This relaunch has been possible thanks to our strong collaboration with British Airways.”
