Vmo & SmartLynx Complete Sale & Leaseback Agreement

This week, aircraft leasing company Vmo has completed the sale and leaseback of a Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with SmartLynx.

This article will cover the details surrounding this new sale and leaseback agreement between Vmo Aircraft Leasing and the Latvian charter and ACMI operator, SmartLynx.

On November 13, 2023, Vmo Aircraft Leasing and SmartLynx formally announced the successful execution of a sale and leaseback of one Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in late October.

This Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft is made up of one of 11 of the type that the Latvian carrier operates under its Maltese division.

Alongside the Maltese division, the carrier also has an Estonian division, with the full group making up a current total of 64 aircraft, broken down as 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, seven Airbus A330-300s, 17 Airbus A321s, and 29 Airbus A320s.

Executive Comments


Commenting on the completion of this new agreement with SmartLynx, Vmo Aircraft Leasing’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Watson, has said, “This transaction establishes a new partnership with one of Europe’s leading ACMI operators.”

“We are pleased to partner with SmartLynx on this transaction and look forward to continued growth opportunities. We thank the whole SmartLynx team for enabling us to complete the deal quickly.”
