Vistara’s plan to expand their routes on domestic and international routes seems to be on the right track. Recently, Vistara announced it will operated non-stop flights between New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport and Bali’s Denpasar International Airport.
Direct services Delhi – Bali
This makes Vistara the only airline operating direct flight between Delhi and Bali, the airline plans to deploy its Airbus 321LR on this route.
This will give customers an option to fly Business, Premium Economy and Economy class. You can find our reviews of the carrier’s A321 Business class here, and Economy Class here.
Vistara’s A321 has lie-flat bed in its business class making it the only airline in the country to offer the enhanced comfort.
Bali is a very important market for Indian aviation, according to the data available, nearly 77,880 Indian citizens visited Bali in the Q1 of 2023.
The count only includes the passengers who landed directly in Bali. Currently India is the second highest country for tourism on the Indonesian island, behind Australia.
This factor make this segment one of the most interesting market for the airlines, surprisingly no other airline was offering this direct flight from Delhi.

India a strong source of tourism
Mr Vindo Kannan, CEO of Vistara said “India is the second-largest source of foreign tourists to Bali, and with hassle-free visa-on-arrival, Bali remains one of the preferred holiday destinations for Indians, besides being popular for MICE traffic.”
“Additionally, as the second largest trading destination for India in the ASEAN region, Indonesia exhibits great potential for business travel as well.”
“We are delighted to be the only airline offering direct connectivity between Delhi and Bali. We are confident that customers will appreciate having the option to travel on India’s finest full-service airline on the route.”
Vistara also commenced a new route on 29 October, when the airline introduced direct flights between Delhi and Hong Kong.
Currently Air India, IndiGo and Cathay Pacific serve this route with direct connectivity. The airline is once again using its A321LR version to fly this segment.
Speaking on the launch of this route CEO of Vistara said “We are pleased to incorporate Hong Kong into our rapidly expanding global network. Hong Kong ranks among world’s foremost financial and commercial centre, attracting significant corporate traffic from India.”
“It has also been a popular destination for Indian tourists. With addition of Hong Kong, we now provide our customers with direct access to three of the world’s major financial hubs, alongside London and Singapore.”
Vistara has also decided to upgrade its Delhi – Bangkok service from A320 to A321, which will offer customers more comfort.
The rapid expansion also confirms that Vistara as a brand will be here longer than it was anticipated and the airline will continue to grow and add more new routes.
