United Airlines is expected to increase it’s winter offering from Florida by up to 20%, with some of the following routes on offer:

The airline plans to increase frequencies on services between Chicago and Fort Myers, Denver-Fort Lauderdale and Chicago-Miami.

On top of this, the airline has gone as far as deciding to place a Boeing 777 on the Chicago-Orlando service, doubling the numbers of seats.

Starting on November 28, the carrier will offer service to Key West, Florida from Newark, Washington Dulles, Houston & Chicago.

United Airlines will also increase the frequency of flights from Cleveland, Ohio to one flight per day to Fort Lauderdale & Fort Myers, with this increasing to twice daily on the Orlando rotation as well.

The carrier will also reintroduce a daily non-stop service to Tampa, operating on a Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.

Mark Weithofer, the airline’s Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning commented on this expansion:

“We know that November is when most people start their winter travel planning so we’re adding these flights to give customers more options than ever”.

“We’ve already begun to see record breaking demand for winter travel and whether customers are looking to unwind on the beach or hit the slopes, United is the clear choice for those planning their getaways.”

Finally, looking away from Florida, United Airlines will expand services on the East Coast, with this consisting of:

  • Newark-Jackson Hole
  • Newark-Eagle/Vail
  • Newark-Hayden/Steamboat
  • Newark-Montrose/Telluride
  • Newark-Bozeman

All eyes will be on the airline to see how the Winter season performs and whether this expansion in flights will be to their benefit.
