United Airlines has introduced a brand-new seasonal non-stop route, operating daily between New York Newark (EWR) and Stockholm.

United Airlines is the third carrier to offer flights between New York (EWR/JFK) and Stockholm, following in the footsteps of Delta and SAS.

This announcement comes as a welcome surprise, especially after the initial plan to launch the route in 2022 had to be postponed due to aircraft availability constraints.

With this new development, American travelers will now have even more options when planning their journey to Sweden.

Newark – Stockholm

United Airlines’ decision to launch a direct flight between Newark and Stockholm reflects the ever-growing interest in travel between the United States and Sweden.

The carrier’s return to Stockholm marks a significant milestone, as this will be the first time since 2019 that they will be serving this culturally rich and dynamic capital city.

Interestingly, United Airlines first began offering flights to Stockholm, which locals affectionately refer to as the “beauty on water,” back in 2005.

The new route will be operated using the Boeing 757-200 aircraft, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant journey for passengers.

This direct connection will undoubtedly be a game-changer, offering convenience and efficiency for travelers seeking to explore both the wonders of Newark and the enchanting allure of Stockholm.

Meeting pent-up travel demand

United Airlines, already the largest carrier across both the Atlantic and the Pacific, is making significant strides to cater to the surging demand for travel.

In response to the increased interest in international travel outside the U.S., the airline has expanded its network by nearly 25% compared to last year.

This summer, United Airlines will serve an impressive 114 different international cities, showcasing their commitment to offering a wide range of options for globe-trotters.

It comes as no surprise that international bookings have already surged by 15% compared to the same period in 2022, demonstrating the eagerness of travelers to explore the world once again.
