United Airlines has announced the addition of 127 new, nonstop flights to help college football fans cheer on their favorite teams at 30 games this season.

The move will build on last year’s effort by the airline which saw more than 50,000 fans fly United to attend some of the most iconic college football towns across the nation.

2023 college football season

This year, the airline will continue the plan to get college football fans to more games to cheer on teams including Wisconsin, USC, University of Michigan, Penn State and more.

“We’re committed to providing a best-in-class travel experience for our customers, whether they’re traveling around the globe, or flying to see their favorite college football team play,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances.

“We’re pleased to deliver a schedule this season that makes it easy for fans to come together and support their teams on the road.”

Partnership with Trojans’ Caleb Williams

In a new move that merges the worlds of sports and aviation, United Airlines is partnering with USC Trojans’ star quarterback, Caleb Williams, who clinched the prestigious 2023 Heisman Award.

This dynamic collaboration involves a name, image, likeness (NIL) agreement, wherein Williams will be the face of United’s advertising and social media campaigns. From appearing in captivating United commercials to engaging in compelling social media interactions, Williams is set to amplify the excitement surrounding these college football flights.

Williams will appear in a variety of United advertising and social media spots during the 2023 season as well as posting to his own account.

“There’s nothing like the energy you get from seeing the fans in stands and hearing them cheer you on during a big rivalry game, whether that’s at home or on the road,” said Caleb Williams, USC Trojans quarterback.

“I’m excited to collaborate with United Airlines to help spread the news of these special college football flights so fans from all over the country can experience that energy first-hand.”

Games supported by United

To cope with demand, United has increased flights and upgraded to larger aircraft types on route services to select cities to support the following games:

The 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season will be the 154th season of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at its highest level of competition, the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).

The regular season will begin on August 26 and end on December 9. The 2023 season will feature a new scheduling format, with a “Week 0” of games being played on August 26. This will be the first time that college football has had a Week 0 since 2014.

The 2023 season is also expected to be a competitive one, with several teams vying for the national championship. The defending champion, Georgia, is expected to be one of the favorites, along with Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State.
