Turkish Airlines has launched its new wholly-owned subsidiary, AJet, which will start operating to the UK from the end of March 2024.

The rebranded low-cost carrier will take to the skies with a new summer schedule with flights to destinations in Turkey.

This wholly-owned subsidiary, set to commence operations to the UK by the end of March 2024, marks a significant development in the airline industry.

The Genesis of AJet

Established in 2008 under the name AnadoluJet, the airline initially aimed to improve air transport links for Anatolia.

Over the years, it has evolved, culminating in its rebranding as AJet under the umbrella of ‘AJet Air Transportation Inc.,’ a wholly-owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines.

Scheduled to commence operations at the end of March 2024, AJet is strategically positioned to strengthen Turkish Airlines’ foothold in a fiercely competitive market.

Operating from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Ankara Esenboğa Airports, AJet aims to carve its niche in the low-cost aviation sector.

This move aligns with Turkish Airlines’ vision for the next decade and signifies a proactive approach to evolving industry dynamics.

In line with contemporary values and a vision for sustainability, AJet is poised to operate efficiently and sustainably.

With a keen focus on innovation, the airline is set to enter the low-cost market, aiming to simplify services and introduce a wholly Economy Class configuration.

This strategic approach enables AJet to pass on cost advantages to passengers, enhancing accessibility for a broader audience.

AJet’s Vision for the Future

As AJet prepares to grace the skies with its inaugural summer schedule, Turkish Airlines anticipates the subsidiary becoming a pivotal player in the global low-cost aviation industry.

The combination of strategic positioning, a commitment to sustainability, and a dedication to affordability positions AJet as a key contender in the evolving aviation landscape.
