TravelBank joins Lufthansa Group sustainability drive

TravelBank, a leading technology travel agency, has partnered with Lufthansa Group, a global aviation leader, to make flying more sustainable.

This landmark collaboration marks TravelBank’s first SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) deal with Lufthansa Group in the United States, solidifying their shared commitment to environmental responsibility.

Lufthansa Group, encompassing airlines like Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, boasts a history of excellence in air travel.

Beyond its commercial air travel commitments, the Group is aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

This ambitious goal is driven by a two-pronged approach: reducing net CO₂ emissions by half compared to 2019 levels by 2030 through operational improvements and offset measures, and actively promoting the adoption of SAF, a cleaner alternative fuel.

Lufthansa Group’s ambitious sustainability goals are multifaceted. They focus on fleet modernization, prioritizing fuel-efficient aircraft.

Additionally, they actively promote SAF, a cleaner-burning fuel derived from renewable sources. This has the end result of significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional jet fuel.
