Earlier last week, Aeromexico revealed plans to operate flights between Mexico City and Tulum’s brand new international airport from December 1.
This means that the carrier will be participating in the inauguration of the brand new airport in Quintana Roo.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
Aeromexico’s New Route Between Mexico City & The New Tulum Airport…

It is understood that the new service between Mexico City and the new Tulum Airport with Aeromexico will be operated by its Embraer E190 aircraft.
14 flights per week will be on offer on this service, and will be part of the overall capacity increase within the carrier’s network.
To and from Cancun, Chetumal, Cozumel and now the new Tulum, there will be 221,000 seats per month on offer for customers, which is an increase of 6%, compared to the current operation.
Jose Zapata, the airline’s VP of Sales in Mexico had this to say on the announcement:
“As Mexico’s global airline, we are very pleased to participate in the inauguration of this airport because, in addition to the fact that it will be a great airport facility, many of our customers have Tulum and the southern Riviera Maya as their final destination, which are international benchmarks for the wealth of tourism that our country offers,”
Overall, this is good news for local connectivity around Mexico, as well as for onward international connectivity through the carrier’s portfolio of over 100 routes.
All eyes are on the inauguration of the new airport, and how the carrier will fit into that moving forward.
