It has been revealed by Qatar Airways this week that China Southern Airlines will launch flights between Guangzhou & Doha.
The Chinese carrier is a codeshare partner to Qatar Airways, who have been enthusiastic about the announcement.

China Southern Service: Guangzhou-Doha…
China Southern Airlines will begin flights between Guangzhou and Doha on April 22.
It is understood these services will operate on a four times per week basis using their Boeing 787 aircraft.
The scheduling for these services is as follows:
- Guangzhou (CAN) to Doha (DOH) – Flight No. CZ333 or QR6393: Departure 19:20; Arrival 22:50
- Doha (DOH) to Guangzhou (CAN) – Flight No. CZ334 or QR6394: Departure 01:15; Arrival 13:40
President of China Southern Air Holding Company Limited, Mr. Han Wensheng had this to say:
“China Southern Airlines is one of the largest airlines in China.”
“Our newly launched flight route between Guangzhou and Doha will enhance connectivity and facilitate exchanges between China and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative”.
“Qatar Airways, our strategic partner, is a long-term committed provider of high-quality services.”
“We will further promote bilateral cooperation, reinforcing each other’s global flight network.”
“Together we will join hands to offer more comfortable and convenient travelling experiences for passengers around the world.”
Qatar Airways’ Involvement…
The involvement from Qatar Airways, who released the news this week, is due to a specific reason.
China Southern is a codeshare and oneworld partner to the Doha-based carrier.
Commenting on the new flights from Guangzhou was Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer:
“Qatar Airways welcomes our codeshare partner, China Southern Airlines, to Qatar.”
“This strategic partnership between our two airlines is a testimony of our commitment to develop traffic to and from China for the benefit of our worldwide travellers.”
“China Southern Airlines is one of the world’s leading airlines, known for its high-quality standards and customer service.”
“By working together and linking our networks, we will stimulate trade and tourism in Qatar, as well as in China”.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how the new flights between Guangzhou and Doha will perform.
For China Southern Airlines, this is another market for them to grow and prosper in.
Whether it be through the connectivity with Qatar Airways, to taking advantage of point-to-point, they have it all.
