LONDON – From 19 February 2023, the Thai premium low-cost carrier Nok Air will commence four weekly nonstop flights to Hyderabad. Nok Air will fly from its base from its main hub at Bangkok’s secondary airport, Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) to Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport).

Hyderabad is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Telangana and is home to 6.8 million people, which serves as an essential market for the Thai airline.

The new route will be operated by its workhorse fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, configured with 189 all economy class seats.

Wutthiphum Jurangkool, CEO, of Nok Air stated: “India is a very important and old friend of Thailand, and at Nok Air, we are pleased to welcome onboard passengers from Hyderabad with direct flights starting 19th February 2023.”

Perfect Timing

The flight to India is expected to bear flight number DD959, which will depart Hyderabad at 00.45 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and land in Bangkok, Don Mueang at 6.05 am.

The return flight to India will be DD958, taking off from Bangkok at 9.30 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays and landing in Hyderabad at 11.45 pm.

This timing is perfect for Indian tourists coming into Thailand as the flight arrives in the morning, which allows them to explore Bangkok as soon as they land. Business travellers would also benefit, as they could start early in the day.

The new route,  also allows travellers to connect to over 20 destinations in Thailand including Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai as well as international destinations including Ho Chi Minh City and Yangon. These destinations are also popular amongst Indian travellers.

The Ever Growing Indian Market

The Indian market has never been so significant for the Thai aviation market, as the market fills the void of the Chinese for the past year. Now as China has re-opened, the Indian market has become less of a focal point for many airlines, as they ramp up for China.

Nok Air, however, does not disregard the growth and the potential of the Indian market, by introducing flights to Hyderabad.
