    • Oslo-Stockholm

In the statement, both carriers said the following on the arrangement:

“This codeshare agreement greatly enhances connections to and from Scandinavia, providing passengers with a seamless, single-ticket journey, allowing a seamless customer journey on a single ticket and will provide more competitive fare offerings to the consumer, making the travel experience more comfortable and enjoyable.”

Such a codeshare will offer additional revenue sources for TAP Air Portugal and SAS, despite the two carriers being part of Star Alliance.

The agreement also states that it will apply to routes beyond SAS’ hubs, although that wasn’t specifically stated by both sides.

For SAS, this is at significant benefit as they can tap into the domestic Portuguese market, a market that is popular with customers who fly with them from the likes of Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how well this agreement goes, as all of the destinations listed are popular tourism links for both sides of Europe.

With that added link through Star Alliance, this will no doubt prove to be a fruitful relationship between the two carriers.
