This week has seen TAP Air Portugal launch direct flights between Porto and Luanda, which is the carrier’s second service to Angola.
Utilizing the Airbus A330neo for this route, services currently take place on a twice-weekly basis, operating on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Services from Porto will leave at 1330 local, and arrive in Luanda at 2135 local, with the return then departing at 2320 local, and arriving back at the Portuguese airport at 0745 the next day.
TAP Expands on Luanda Relationship Since 1957 with Porto Flights…
Commenting on this milestone was Ricardo Dinis, TAP Air Portugal’s Country Manager for the UK, Ireland & Nordics:
“We have flown to Luanda from Lisbon since 1957 and have seen the potential for greater opportunities in this market so we know customers will welcome the launch of our new twice-weekly service from Porto.”
“With now two routes to choose from with TAP for travel to the Angolan capital, we believe we can offer a great new alternative service from Portugal’s second city to the growing Port city of Luanda.”
This addition of services to Porto and Luanda highlights the carrier’s current Summer schedule, which is quite extensive currently.
TAP Air Portugal offers more than 1,230 flights per week across Europe and around the world, comprising seven airports in Portugal, 10 in North America, 12 in Central & South America, 20 in Africa and the Middle East, and 44 in Europe.
Looking ahead, it’s going to be interesting to see how Porto will be utilized by the airline going into the future, especially with these Luanda services as well.
If they are successful, then this will form the foundation for more services in future summer schedules.
