Ahead of its expected Summer boom for 2024, Loganair has this week announced plans to relaunch services between Kirkwall and Fair Isle.
This announcement is part of the scheduling, which will see 900,000 seats released on sale for passengers.
It also represents a significant boost to air connectivity within the Scottish Isles.

The new service between Kirkwall and Fair Isle will commence on May 20, 2024, and will operate on a seasonal basis until September 2 on a twice-weekly basis.
Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “We’re improving our schedule and increasing frequency across several key markets in order to serve our customers better next summer.”
“The opportunity to reinstate our Fair Isle service is particularly pleasing and demonstrates our support to this island community.
“Advance booking is the optimal way to secure the best value deals on our services, so with over 900,000 seats now available next summer, it is the perfect time to plan your trips.”
Loganair’s summer 2024 schedule will also see improvements to the timings of its Newcastle to Southampton, Edinburgh to Sumburgh, and Edinburgh to Exeter services.
Specifically welcoming a weekend return service between Newcastle and Southampton. It also sees the larger 72-seat ATR-72 deployed on busier routes.
It remains clear that the demand is there for travel around the UK domestically, and these services between Kirkwall and Fair Isle are good examples of that.
All eyes are now on the carrier to see how the rest of the Summer 2023 season will perform.
