On Thursday, it was revealed that SriLankan Airlines has entered into an interlining partnership with Virgin Australia.
This deal will significantly boost the airline’s presence within Australia, whereas it’s partner will benefit from international connectivity.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
SriLankan Airlines Enters Partnership With Virgin Australia…
Under the agreement, SriLankan Airlines will benefit from the following routes that Virgin Australia currently operates:
- Hamilton Island
- Gold Coast
- Destinations in New Zealand, Samoa & Fiji.
On top of this, Virgin Australia will benefit from services into the following countries that SriLankan operates into:
“Australia has one of the largest Sri Lankan diasporic communities, which makes our Australian routes incredibly popular all year around and particularly with people travelling to visit friends and relatives or in pursuit of higher education.”
“This partnership will help us make further inroads in the Australian market through improved connectivity and a range of other benefits for our valued customers.”
The Sri Lanka-based carrier already operates services to Melbourne and Colombo from its base in Sydney, so this is where such connectivity can emerge from.
Nearly one million passengers have used the airline’s services into Australia, and catering to such demand, this is why the two sides have come together to provide seamless and endless connectivity to the rest of the region.
