Spirit Airlines (NYSE: SAVE) is marking a significant milestone as it celebrates two decades of connecting travelers between Cancun International Airport (CUN) and the United States.

To honor of this anniversary, the airline is offering travelers the chance to experience “More Go” with special anniversary fares on flights to Cancun, providing the perfect opportunity for a tropical getaway.

The promotional fares are valid for travel to Cancun (CUN) from Feb. 7 to March 6, 2024, presenting an ideal window for travelers to escape the winter blues and soak up the sun in Cancun’s stunning beaches and tourist attractions.

Two Decades of Service in Cancun

John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, expressed his gratitude for the longstanding support from travelers and the partnership with Cancun International Airport over the past two decades.

“For 20 years, we’ve been pleased to offer our Guests affordable, nonstop service to Cancun, making the popular beach destination more accessible and affordable with the opportunity to save on airfare while enjoying more of Cancun’s tourist attractions,” Kirby stated.

In addition to the anniversary fares, Spirit Airlines is extending exclusive benefits to members of its Free Spirit® loyalty program. Travelers can earn 1,500 bonus points on roundtrip flights and 750 points on one-way flights to and from Cancun.

Giving Back to the Community

As part of its anniversary celebration, the Spirit Charitable Foundation is making a meaningful contribution to the community with a $20,000 donation to Keeping Kids in School in Playa Del Carmen.

This generous donation reflects Spirit’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives and removing financial barriers that hinder children’s access to education in Mexico.

Expanding Service Offerings

Spirit Airlines is dedicated to enhancing the guest experience and expanding its service offerings. The airline currently operates nonstop flights from Cancun to nine cities in the United States, including Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Orlando, New Orleans, and Philadelphia.

Additionally, Spirit Vacations allows travelers to conveniently bundle and save on vacation packages, including hotels, resorts, and rental cars in Cancun.

Looking ahead, Spirit Airlines will introduce new nonstop service from Tulum (TQO) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO) starting March 28.

This expansion marks Spirit’s continued drive to provideaffordable travel options to popular destinations, with Tulum becoming the latest addition to its network.

Notably, Spirit is the only ultra-low-cost carrier offering service to Tulum from the U.S., providing travelers with even more choices for their next getaway.

Industry Recognition

Spirit Airlines’ commitment to excellence has earned it recognition from industry experts and passengers alike. The airline’s Fit Fleet® boasts one of the most fuel-efficient fleets in the industry, with plans for additional brand-new planes to be delivered in 2024.

Recent cabin enhancements, including wider seats, added cushion, new headrests, and upgrades to the Big Front Seat®, further enhance the comfort of the onboard experience.

Additionally, Spirit offers fast onboard Wi-Fi, allowing guests to enjoy content from streaming services during their flight.

In acknowledgment of its outstanding performance, Spirit Airlines has received several prestigious accolades.

Aviation Week Network’s Air Transport World (ATW) named Spirit the Value Airline of the Year, while the carrier achieved a Four Star Low-Cost Carrier (LCC) rating in the 2024 APEX/IFSA Awards, based on passenger feedback.

Furthermore, Spirit’s commitment to safety was recognized with the FAA’s “Aviation Maintenance Technician Diamond Award of Excellence” for the fifth consecutive year.
